Calendar

From Adventures in the Czech Republic, 6 month ago Similar articles

I came across this calendar in a Czech second-hand bookshop or antikvariat. It dates back to 1975 and features the art of Cyril Bouda. Each month is decorated with traditional Czech scenes for the month in question. Above we see Cervenec (July) - note the delighted mushroom finder at the bottom and the woodsmen bringing a raft of logs down the river to the sawmills. In the centre is a list of name days for the month.  And below is Brezen (March) with easter celebrations, the traditional...

17th of May Parade in Alta

From My Little Norway, Today, Similar articles

When you live in a small city everyone is a part of the parade.  That means there is only a very small crowd looking on.  So Alta has arranged a unique idea. COUNTDOWN CALENDAR with TEA COLLECTION

From Delhi Bound, 1 weeks ago, Similar articles

Years ago, I wrote for Tea Collection - a darling clothing company that marries the concept of raising global citizens with awareness about world issues and combines it with some really great clothes. Mia has just now grown out of some the darling pieces that we acquired from Tea, and it remains one of my favorites. Tea, the drink, is shared in nearly every culture around the world. Being Tea is about experiencing life together, even when we're not in the same place. It means taking the...

Happy Birthday, Big D!

Happy Birthday, Big D!

From Life is Good, 1 month ago, Similar articles

Donovan is 4 years old today!  Well, technically thanks to international timezone weirdness his four-years-on-earth anniversary was yesterday at about 4:30pm California time (which was 1:30am the next morning in Switzerland).  But going by the calendar day, today's the Big Day. So in four years we've gone from this: To this: I don't think I can express in words just how much I love this kid, so I won't even try.  Instead I'll just share his birthday slideshow.  I...

Life racing by in Cyprus once more

From This is Cyprus, 1 month ago, Similar articles

It's strange how, sometimes, life seems to go by quite slowly. The winter seemed endless, although it was only a couple of months .I know that the summer is likely to drag too. But now that spring is here, a couple of weeks appear - if it's not too much of a cliché - to have flown by. I had to look on my calendar, and then my camera to see what we'd done.  There were the usual two public holidays on March 25th (Greek National Day) and April 1st. Since both those dates fell on a...

Our Life in "KW" - The German "Kalendarwochen" Concept - Part 1

From Liz, Tobi & Lukas' Adventures, 1 month ago, Similar articles

As I was considering how to make up for my recent absence from the blogosphere, the thought occured to me that I could introduce you to the german "Kalendarwochen", or "Calendar Weeks" concept. Otherwise known as "KW" (pronounced "Ka-Vae"), in this corner of the world they often organize their lives according to the weeks of the year, and what better way to cover all of this missed time'This week being the last of the year, makes it number 52, and since my last posting was on November 4th, or...

KL Expat Mom Goes Back to Work

From New Life in KL!, 1 month ago, Similar articles

Thanks to hubby, I enjoyed months of bliss. I quit my job last year 2011 and transformed into a housewife. It was all new to me, the "nothingness" and the empty calendar schedule on my mobile phone. I was used to back-to-back meetings and hundreds of emails per day. Suddenly, silence.During those months of slow emails & empty schedules, I was full of happiness beyond words. Seeing my daughter develop every day is priceless. She is 2 years old now. I noticed the big difference and...

Advent Calendar December 10

Advent Calendar December 10

From Jeweled Concrete, 4 month ago, Similar articles

Christmas Party. The Saffa and I decided to host an open house holiday party this year.  We thought it would be fun to invite our friends by for some food and drink so we could see everyone before the end of the year and before we headed off to the States to spend the holidays with my family.  Knowing it was a busy time of year, we made the invitation for an extended 8 hours and asked people to drop by when convenient for them and stay as long as they liked. The Saffa and I went...
