And we SCORED A TURKEY!!!!!There were Pavos and Pavitos, turkeys and little turkeys...and we scored the last turkey there.....YEAAAAH!We went for lunch in town, a most unpromising looking bar, but it was OK in fact and the food was fine.  Fairly typical fair honestly.  We took a walk around the town and I wondered why I hadn't brought my camera.  Still not sure why I managed to do that, but there it is. Got back to the house and took Chuck for a walk alongside the local dog,...

Smiling heart and children's laughter in a village

From Not so desperate yugowife, 8 month ago, Similar articles

Yesterday morning I finally went to pick up a cake plate that I had left at an acquaintances' house 2 year's ago after an Easter tea party and egg hunt for the kids. (2 years!!! It's great to have the time to do these non-priority things again). She has also had a second child (4 months old) and is feeling rather frazzled although her second is a calmer one than her first. Anyway, this lady is going back to her full time job next week and will be traveling and has brought-in live-in help from...

Spring has sprung!

Spring has sprung!

From Jane's Daily Blah, 1 year ago, Similar articles

Today was the first Saturday in a while with good weather here in Daegu. I'd really been looking forward to getting outside and taking some photographs, and I was thrilled to wake up and discover warm, dry, sunny weather. Of course, first things first: Charlie had her second vet appointment today. She is still terrified when we go, but I think she was calmer this time than last time, and she was so good. Didn't bite or scratch or even growl. My former feral wildcat has come a long way! After...

Enjoying both cities

From Living in Florence, Italy -- Mel, 1 year ago, Similar articles

Thursday, March 3, 2011 Since the beginning of the year, many things in my life have changed. I might be an odd duck, but I embrace change. Florence fosters change and doesn't allow me to be stagnant even if I tried. I have learned to welcome change because no matter how painful it might have been to change, so many gifts arrived. Fortunately, my private life (my husband, my family, and friends) is the part that is calmer right now. I had hoped that 2011 would be the year I would finally...

How to enjoy life- Yoghurt Dessert With Mandarine & Tea Jelly, Candied Orange Peel and Almonds

From Lucullian Delights, 1 year ago, Similar articles

I need some summery images right now, maybe you do too! A slightly calmer week so I grab the occasion to finally post that recipe that I have been sitting on for quite some time now. Which means that I also have to create some new ones but that is another problem. But before proceeding with that, I would like to tell you about what is happening with our Plate To Page workshop in Weimar in May;

Adapting to life in Paris

From Living in Florence, Italy -- Mel, 1 year ago, Similar articles

Monday, February 7, 2011 Being in Paris is a big change of pace for me. My life in Florence is generally much slower and calmer. It took me a few days to adapt to life here. Besides having to commute to work, having a set time to work each day, speaking French, not seeing the sun until 8am, and, of course, not spending time my marito (husband) and suoceri (in-laws). On the other hand, I am extremely fortunate to have many friends here with whom I have reconnected. I'm not used to commuting...

Sunshine!

From Expat Mom, 1 year ago, Similar articles

After all the storms that have been pummeling us lately, we are finally experiencing some well-deserved sunshine! It’s great. Even the boys are calmer and happier. Today, work is being put aside since Irving is off playing with a new band and we have no maid, and we’re taking the chicken bus into Antigua to enjoy some rays and get our fill of Vitamin D!

This was the Standard's contribution to last week.  I know half of my readers think I'm insane and we're too super busy.  We're in such low gear we could be in reverse compared to what's going on around us, and STILL it's too much.I don't know if the people who respond are local or writing in from a calmer world - but this article refers to what happens to kids under 4/5 - BEFORE they even enter the schooling rat race.Just for the record - we've never created a children CV, we've...

Il fait très soleil is not French

From Toutes Directions, 1 year ago, Similar articles

Work has been calmer now that the big event is over and also because I'm trying to take everything not seriously since I won't be there after June 30th.Today I was able to leave on-time (5:30 on Fridays) and go to the yearly general assembly for AVF (Accueil des Villes Françaises). When I first arrived in Toulouse I was really active in AVF and I went to lots of activities. I became less active when I was busy with my Masters, and now 2 1/2 years later, I'm less active since I have a small...
