Paris Metro Scenes & Crazy Traffic

From The Dutched Pinay, 4 month ago Similar articles

Perhaps the easiest way to travel in Paris is by Metro' I quite agree but when you are wearing high heels its not the best option. Having said that we took the cab moving forward.Paris Metro Scenes:They even have Amsterdam beer in Paris' Not heard of!Traffic in Paris was insane. I am lucky I live in the Netherlands where rules are rules and they are followed. Not in Paris though. We had this cab driver who was literally suicidal. He drove on trattoirs and areas where vehicles are not allowed...

Break out the bubbly! Wow.  Here I am, six whole years old, and ready to down the champagne.I'm not picky, really, but it must be French. Veuve Clicquot will do quite nicely, though I won't turn down a Taittinger, Moet, or Nicolas Perrier. (Am I missing someone important')Yup, six years ago today Polly-Vous Francais' was born. It happened by accident, really.  I had been living in Paris for two months on place de la Madeleine, invading and soaking up the cultural and political life of...

Half Time

Half Time

From Ali Blah Blah, Yesterday, Similar articles

I did it! My first half marathon. Two hours twenty-one minutes. 99% running, 1% waiting to go to the bathroom. 10lbs lost over six months and nearly 200 miles of training runs. It has been an amazing, exhilarating and crazy journey.  The icing on the cake was feeling good and being able to enjoy the whole race, having friends cheering from the sidelines, and then running across the finish line with Anna and Lucy. What a perfect way to spend Mothers Day weekend.I'll write more when I...

This and That

Here are some unrelated photos, all taken with my Iphone as I was here and there in Paris. A view of the Arc de Triumph from the side. It was just nice to get another angle as I am so often seeing it from the front. It’s been the stage for a lot of action in the last couple of weeks, first with Veterans Day here in France and the laying of the wreath at the tomb of the unknown soldier and then, yesterday, a visit from the newly elected President, Hollande. It poured and his suit was...

Prolonged spring in Paris.

Maximilien was on break from school for two weeks in April. I worked one week and decided to close L'OisiveThé the second week so we could spend some quality time together. The creche doesn't close during the school breaks so Alixe was all business as usual. We kept her in the creche the two weeks because she was in the midst of full blown potty training!   She sort of initiated her potty training phase herself. She came home one day from the Creche asking for a culotte. Being...

I started using the Internet many years ago. It was in the days when you had to dial up and wait a long time until you heard that unique sound that said you were now online. I started out using AOL (America On Line) then and I’ve never changed although I keep being told that I should. AOL, back then, had many interesting boards or forums and I visited them often. I found that sharing problems and information with others in that setting to be very helpful. After I moved to Paris I went...

Potty, dolphins, biking and the Best Exotic Marigold Hotel

From Not so desperate yugowife, 3 days ago, Similar articles

In all honesty it has not been the best week-end: mainly the kids were just crazy impossible (pink marker on the couch and poo smeared in the toilet bowl for the billionth time made me crazy) and whiny despite a really nice visit to the zoo and the dolphin show followed by an afternoon at the beach. The dolphins at the Attiko Parko show  flamingos at the Attiko Parko ZooI think we really need to get some time away from them -  we are so tired of repeating the same things over and...

I recently friended a UK based American expat named Leigh who was visiting Paris on a extended trip. We hit it off from the start. She has a cute blog and an even cuter daugheter named Lois who Maximilien took a liking to immediately. Lois doesn't speak French but that didn't keep her from making fast friends with Max. You would never believe the conversations these two had a mismash of French and English and lots of laughing and wrestling. Lois can keep up with the boys for sure....

What is this blog about' Initially it was to document my love for Paris. Then it became about my fall for fashion. Along the journey – unfortunately -  you also saw me get sick with anorexia, or scarily close to it. Melt, shrink, lessen… whatever you want to call it. Now it is about sharing what I love. Fashion along other delights. Me trying to find my way in my fourth country – Canada. After Finland, the USA and France, a new adventure. I’m still trying to get...
