Paris Metro Scenes & Crazy Traffic
From The Dutched Pinay, 1 month ago, Similar articles
Perhaps the easiest way to travel in Paris is by Metro' I quite agree but when you are wearing high heels its not the best option. Having said that we took the cab moving forward.Paris Metro Scenes:They even have Amsterdam beer in Paris' Not heard of!Traffic in Paris was insane. I am lucky I live in the Netherlands where rules are rules and they are followed. Not in Paris though. We had this cab driver who was literally suicidal. Taking the Plunge
From Chez Loulou, 2 month ago, Similar articles
Tomorrow we're moving to Normandy. Please don't think we're crazy. We've discovered that when you tell people in the south of France that you're moving to the north of France, they tend to think that you've lost it. Completely. Well, we haven't. We know about the rain and the cold, the drizzle and the damp. We understand that moving from the south of France to the north of France is unconventional. We've also discovered that most of our friends and acquaintances who think that we've...

avoir des oursins dans les poches
From French Word-A-Day, 2 month ago, Similar articles
It is the quirky scenes, such as this one, that have me forever in love with France. We talk about "opportunity" in America, but I think the French pigeons actively display this same concept! Scenes from a walk in the woods (Ozarks)
From Tales of a Texpatriate, 2 month ago, Similar articles
Went on a walk in the woods today, on a cold Fall day. I'm heading back to Norway this week, though it's actually colder here in MO than it is in NO right now. This is all on my parents' property, in a place that is literally almost named Bumfuck. Still, Bumfuck is really pretty. The dog is also theirs, one of three, though one is pretty old and I think he won't be around much longer. Teufel, you're a good ol' boy.Argh, I don't want to do the flight back. Such a pain in the ass. Sigh. Can't...
Calendar
From Adventures in the Czech Republic, 3 month ago, Similar articles
I came across this calendar in a Czech second-hand bookshop or antikvariat. It dates back to 1975 and features the art of Cyril Bouda. Each month is decorated with traditional Czech scenes for the month in question. Above we see Cervenec (July) - note the delighted mushroom finder at the bottom and the woodsmen bringing a raft of logs down the river to the sawmills. In the centre is a list of name days for the month. And below is Brezen (March) with easter celebrations, the traditional...

More Gamla Stan Scenes
From The Dutched Pinay, 3 month ago, Similar articles
13th century old Gamla Stan is small so it's easy to see everything on foot in just a few hours. Like in most of my travels, I try to get lost in the narrow alleys and cobbled stone streets. Stockholm's medieval Gamla Stan has enough of them so that was a delight. Its location is very dramatic and unique'in a little island. To see a googlemaps sattelite view of Gamla Stan, go here: Gamla Stan. Ah, Stockholm is indeed beautiful, no wonder she is called the capital of Scandinavia.I will let the...
