7 Food Even Food Safety Experts Won't Eat

From Lao Ocean Girl, 1 month ago Similar articles

They are: canned tomatoes corn-fed beef microwave popcorn non-organic potatoes farmed salmon milk produced with artificial hormones conventional apples I don’t eat canned tomatoes or microwave popcorn, so I don’t have to worry about that.  I try to buy only organic dairy products because there are too many hormones in cows nowadays.  Even as a kid, I noticed the waxy, pesticide residue from apples and would always peel mine.  The two things that surprised me were the...

Dinner at the Happy Pig

Dinner at the Happy Pig

From Here There and Everywhere, 1 month ago, Similar articles

We were all meeting up at the Happy Pig; the mood was meat, specifically BBQ meat, and as it is a family gathering, all tastes had to be considered. Happy Pig is centrally located, great food and, a big plus with the Happy Toddler, family oriented. Happy Toddler is so much more verbal these days, which is a joy, and gives us many moments of hilarity, but also can be a pain. He believes that “please” means he will be given what he wants when he wants it. He believes that “all...

Just what I need, colour and vitamins - Orange and Apricot Salad With Hazelnuts and Maple Syrup

From Lucullian Delights, 1 month ago, Similar articles

So this was Christmas to paraphrase John Lennon and although I have enjoyed it all, it feels good it is  all over and I can get going again with my normal life. Well we have that New Year's stuff to do but is far less labour intense so I can take that. We had a nice quiet Christmas with my Italian family, lots of nice food and happy faces and what else can you ask for'  But now I crave

Lafayette Gourmet and a late Lunch

From The Dutched Pinay, 1 month ago, Similar articles

The Lafayette Gourmet is a foodie paradise! I just love the plethora of scrumptious FOOD from all over the world available here, food for sale even in small portions and 100 kilograms. Heaven. I remember the last time I was in here years back. I bought my lunch here and picnicked at the park. Hands down, this is a must stop.Although the French aren't the best in the cured sausage department (the Italians are in my opinion), I bought here a couple of dried French saucissons. Here is a TIP for...

Cafe & Bar Celona Munster: Kartoffel-Gemüse Pfanne

From The Dutched Pinay, 1 month ago, Similar articles

Typically Deutsch I reckon, this Kartoffel-Gemüse Pfanne. We found the restaurant in Stubbengasse which is the brand spanking new and modern shopping complex of Munster. Cafe & Bar Celona is located right on the big open square.Because I had my Krakauer sausage earlier and I was still a bit full I opted for a Cesar Salad (which was a mistake, I am giving this 2 stars out of 5) while everyone else, excluding the kids who ordered pasta, had the vegetarian kartoffel. I love food but I know...

My Xmas chic… sweetheart sushi dinner and kisses in abundance! Are you contented with your year gone by' I am. It has been a period of profound changes. Early 2011, I traveled to Finland. Practiced being free around food again with cream and jam filled brioche. My journeys choo-chooed along as I hopped on the Eurostar and whisked to London. Staying at my cousin and lovely Kate’s was an absolute treat. Hubs back home in Paris. This chick free to indulge in art and Camden vintage...

And we SCORED A TURKEY!!!!!There were Pavos and Pavitos, turkeys and little turkeys...and we scored the last turkey there.....YEAAAAH!We went for lunch in town, a most unpromising looking bar, but it was OK in fact and the food was fine.  Fairly typical fair honestly.  We took a walk around the town and I wondered why I hadn't brought my camera.  Still not sure why I managed to do that, but there it is. Got back to the house and took Chuck for a walk alongside the local dog,...

Comfort food for this time of the year

Comfort food for this time of the year

From The Dutched Pinay, 2 month ago, Similar articles

I have many comfort foods but for this time of the year and just particularly now, I am digging this:?Fourme d'Ambert' blue cheese and ?Brin de Paille' soft cheese. I normally take ?Chaumes' for soft cheese because its stronger. I like strong cheese, the stronger it is, the better.Last night I paired the two French cheeses with red wine and dried stick sausages from Huls, and today, I paired them with seaweed and of course a glass of red wine. I cannot get enough!

Celebrating New Year's Eve in Tallinn'!

Celebrating New Year's Eve in Tallinn'!

From Nami-nami, 2 month ago, Similar articles

This post is mainly for those food-oriented people in Tallinn who haven't yet decided where to celebrate New Year's Eve this year. Here are some alternatives worth considering - not paid ads, mind you, but events that some of my favourite establishments are throwing that I'd be happy to attend if I wouldn't be celebrating the New Year's Eve at home with my lovely K., our two adorable kids and some great friends. What are your plans - in Tallinn or elsewhere - for the New Year's...

Divina Cucina on the Road- Benevento

Divina Cucina on the Road- Benevento

From Over the Tuscan Stove, 2 month ago, Similar articles

This year I was invited to attend a wine festival south of Naples. I adore the wines of this region, mostly whites and knew little about the reds so was excited to join the group. I adore travelling around any food and wine festival as you see the locals celebrating and each village has some special event. In Chianti we have festivals each weekend in Sept. So the chance to see another area of Italy celebrate and to taste all the best of their wines is a great excuse for travel. One of the...
