Blogging: Reaching Out To Other Women Expats

Are you an expat woman who has a flair for writing? Would you like to share your experiences with other women?
Blogging: Reaching Out To Other Women Expats

If you would like to use your talent and dole out advice and tips to other women expats, blogging is most certainly the quickest way to do so.  Here is how you can connect with women like you across the globe…

•    Tips and Advice: People are always looking for tips and advice on so many things.  You could begin by writing about your life in another country, how you adapted, lifestyle issues…in fact anything that readers will find interesting, entertaining and informative.
•    Classify: It is possible that you may want to write about different issues such as work experiences, setting up house, children, marriage and health matters.  Instead of simply posting things as and when they come to mind you could organize your blog posts in to different categories to help people find information quickly and easily.
•    Lace it with Humor: No one likes a sob story although of course not all your experiences may be good.  This does not mean that you project everything you share as good but remember to add some humor to the bleakest of issues and watch your readership grow.
•    Let Your Blog Reflect Your Personality: Use pictures, photographs, paintings or sketches done by you to your blog posts to add a personal touch.  It also lets people who read your blog identify with the person behind the blog.  You will be pleasantly surprised by the responses that you will receive.
•    Tech Savvy Initiatives: If you are technically inclined you could also add audios and videos to your blog posts to make them more interesting.
•    Write Frequently: To retain interest in your blog you should write frequently- about 2-3 times every week.  This will keep your blog in circulation and help you stay connected with what people are reading.
•    Encourage Discussions: Good blogging netiquette demands that you reply to questions and comments that people post in response to your blog posts.  This also helps you to know whether others are reading and enjoying your blog.  Their comments could sometimes amount to feedback which will help you to make your subsequent posts more interesting and informative.
•    Start an Online Community: Social networking has arrived!  There could be many expat women like you who probably have the same issues that you do.  Nothing like an online support group to help, dole out advice or simply share tips and experiences with each other.  With so much help on hand, life abroad won’t seem so complicated after all.
•    Get Paid to Blog:  The internet has opened up a treasure trove of opportunities for writers.  As an expat woman blogger you could also explore the possibilities of getting paid to blog about your experiences.  That’s just one more way of proving that experience pays.

Whatever the incentive, blogging proves to be cathartic, paying off in more ways than one.
